The second thing to report is that we have been in contact with our friends in Santiago, Chile, which early Saturday morning experienced one of the worst earthquakes in reported history. Here is the email I received yesterday:
Friend Tony, thanks for your concern. Our blessed God has had mercy on us, the entire church is well, all my family is well, up to now. The earthquake was very strong, something that we had never lived through before, but God continues being faithful. The zone south of Santiago, Chile, yes, is very complicated and bad, so we ask for your prayers. Greeting and blessings, thanks for your email, we will stay in contact.
Please keep the church in Chile in your prayers. Just checking the news reports this morning I see that the death toll is now over 700, there is widespread looting and the government has deployed 10,000 troops to the most affected areas. Let's pray that the church is not only protected but seizes upon this opportunity to reach out to the lost and the hurting.
