Evidence of God and Eternity

Does the God of the Bible exist?  If so, then the promises in the Bible would have to be true.  As evidence that His promises are both true and reliable, consider this:  Our team of 4 just got back from a week of ministry in Ecuador.  Between our Ecuadorian team and our North American team we saw the kind of things the Lord Jesus said we would see when the gospel is preached.

“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; … they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it. Mark 16:17-20 NIV84.

We saw demons both manifest and get driven out of people. Healings occurred everywhere the team split up and went.  People were speaking in new tongues and getting filled with the Holy Spirit.  These are the eyewitness testimonies of all of our team members.

Here are just a few of the things that occurred: Our first night Pat, Andres, Byron, Leonora and Marcel saw a guy in a wheel chair get up and walk around.  Monday night Shok, Byron, Leonora, Fernando, Gardenia, Miguel and Judy saw a woman who could not walk without the assistance of 2 people (one on each side) walk without assistance after prayer. Wednesday night Fernando and I saw an entire family of 6 get saved: the parents and 4 kids.  3 of the kids were teenagers that the father complained were rebellious.  All 4 prayed together to receive the Lord (including an 8 year old) and then all of them except the oldest were filled and slain in the Spirit. The oldest son and the father apparently had some issues with each other but after Fernando counseled them for a few minutes I could see that they were hugging each other and weeping!

That same evening Andres and Shok were with Dr. Freddy and had to deal with someone who, in Shok’s words, was acting absolutely crazy.  Bending over, flapping his hands and arms, with eyes closed he was quite a sight.  They had no power to deal with it but they commanded him to stop and for that demon to leave in the Name of Jesus.  The man fell to his knees and stopped his crazy behavior.

Many places we went many people were filled with and overwhelmed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Probably 12 people got saved Monday night, and quite a few others repented of their backsliding.  My best guess is that somewhere around 35-40 people got saved this trip.  Many people got healed at the services and even after the services.  For example, Monday night after Pat preached at the “Church Without Walls” downtown (which now has walls) we were all milling around the parking lot.  We all got together to start praying for one another.  One of the leaders in the church got healed of a pain he had had in the back of his head for a couple of months.

So, we went out and preached like Jesus commanded.  He in turn worked with us, and confirmed the word by doing incredible things that are otherwise unexplainable.  Like street signs these events point us to something: the possibility of a supernatural source for these events.

That's why God does miracles among us:

“Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” John 20:30-31 NIV84.

The events of the last week may not be conclusive evidence.  But even if you don’t believe  the incredible events we have seen with our eyes, you must admit that our eyewitness testimony is evidence – strong evidence - which supports the assertion that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that we can enjoy eternal life here, now, and hereafter by believing in His Name.

My prayer is, and the reason we travel, is so that you and others will believe the incredible truth that God exists and wants to give you eternal life.   Have a blessed day.

Being Pregnant With the Word of God

In Luke 1:26-38 the angel Gabriel comes to Mary and announces to her that she has found favor with God and that she will become pregnant with the Son of God. Mary does not understand how this could be as she was virgin and asks the angel to explain how this could happen. Gabriel tells her that The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Highest will overshadow you and that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. He also said that with God, nothing is impossible! Her response was,  "Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; be it done to me according to your word."

The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

We, at salvation, are all impregnated with the Word of God - Jesus - by The Holy Spirit. As the baby Jesus began to take over Mary's body and told her when to lay down; when to sit down; when and what to eat; how to walk (when you are pregnant with the Word, you begin to walk funny - at least those who are not pregnant think so!), He was preparing her for her future - to give birth to the Word of God!

"Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; be it done to me according to your word."

Let the power of the Highest overshadow your life and let the life of Jesus - the Word - take over every area of your life! Remember this - in the Kingdom of God only the virgins can conceive the Word! Listen to what He says and you will give birth to His Word coming true in your life! You were born for The Purpose to be born out of you! Be blessed!
